Main areas of the research:
- research of biotechnological processes of synthesis of new ecologically safe substances and their functional properties;
- development of the scientific foundations of complex ecological monitoring and methodology for the remediation of man-made environment in oil production areas.
Field of scientific interests: microbial synthesis and practical application of biosurfactants and biopolymers, ecological monitoring and methodologies for restoration of man-made environment.
Scientists of the division actively cooperate with universities: Lviv Polytechnic National University, Ivan Franko Lviv National University, Yuriy Fedkovich Chernivtsi National University and Igor Sikorskyi Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
International cooperation also continues and develops: with the Wrocław Polytechnic University of Technology, the Institute of Epidemiology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences (Poland), the Institute of Chemical Engineering (Gliwice, Poland), the Agricultural University of Georgia (Tbilisi, Georgia), the Shangchun Institute of Applied Chemistry Chinese Academy of Sciences, Laboratory Integration Technology Research Group of Polymer Composite Materials (Changchun Institute of Applied Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Research Group of Integration Technologies of Polymer Composite Materials), as well as from Alpinus Chemia LLC (Poland). National Research Council (Italy).
The division took an active part in the implementation of applied works, research under targeted complex programs of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, implementation of grants from international organizations, etc.
